The Phlebotomist (a specialist who takes blood from patients for examination in laboratories) is available at:

Specimens for testing can be left at the surgery between 08.15 - 16.30 each day. They will be collected by the courier and taken to the Lister Hospital Pathology Laboratory. If you try to deliver a specimen after 16.30, this will be refused as specimens stored overnight may deteriorate and no longer be suitable for testing.

At the time of the test you will probably have been given a guide on how long the result will take to be notified to the surgery; this is generally 7-10 days.
Once it has been assessed by your GP, our team will be able to let you know if the test is satisfactory. If you need to phone the doctor to discuss the result or if you need to book an appointment to see the doctor about the result.
We offer a wide range of medical examinations that may be required for insurance purposes, pre-employment, Leisure pursuits etc. The reception team will be able to advise you of the fee payable for these services when you book your appointment. Fees charged vary for different medicals.
If you are referred on for specialist treatment, then please tell the Doctor if you have private health cover before you are referred to the NHS.
There is a fee payable for any forms you may need a doctor to complete. You will be informed of the fee when the forms are given in. Please allow a minimum of seven working days for the completion of these forms.
In the case of passport application forms the doctor must have known you for minimum of 1/2 years. You will need to make an appointment with the doctor for this documentation to be completed.
Please note : If you pay by cheque we require a cheque guarantee card. We do not accept credit card.

Private Health Insurance. Many people now have private health
insurance. It would assist us if you inform your doctor that you wish to use it before he has referred you to the NHS! Please note that there is a fee for processing claims forms as outlined in your policy.
