Appointments

stethescope_on_calendarOur doctors and nurses see patients by appointment.

Patients are registered with the practice as a whole and not with individual doctors. You are therefore entitled to see and continue seeing any doctor of your choice. Patients are put under a specific doctor’s name for administrative purposes only. If you have an urgent problem which cannot wait for the next available appointment for your usual doctor, you may be requested to see another doctor.

Alternatives to seeing a doctor in person

The practice has a procedure in place which enables you to speak to your GP should you need advice. You can ring up leave your name and number a brief message and the doctor will ring you back during the afternoon surgery.

Monday mornings are always very busy. Please wait until later to call unless you need to see a doctor that morning.

Cancelling an appointment

If you have booked an appointment but are not able to attend for any reason, please let us know. Repeated failures to attend for appointments may jeopardise your continued registration at the practice.

Priority for Sick Children

Sick children are seen as soon as possible after their arrival at the practice and this may be quicker than a home visit. If you are in any doubt about bringing your child out please call the surgery first and the doctor can advise.

Chaperone

You are entitled to ask or arrange for a chaperone to be present during intimate examinations. You may either choose to ask a friend or relative to be present or ask the practice to provide a chaperone. Please ask in advance if you wish the practice to provide a chaperone.

If the practice is unable to provide a chaperone at the time of your examiniation, you may be asked to re-book your appointment for a time when a chaperone is available.

Why your appointment may be late

Symbol Error 3Emergencies can arise from time to time and we hope you will understand if doctors and nurses are called out during a surgery. Similarly some problems require more of your doctor’s time and therefore the surgeries may run late.

Remember - one day it may be you who needs the extra time.
